I need a new Spring version of the Hobo Bag!!

So, I drove away with it on my car last week :(  …  That would have been ok, because stuff like that does not surprise me…. but the security guard found the empty bag in the parking lot…. That makes me mad (that someone would take it .. even through I lost it first)    I had assumed it was smashed… but who would take a smashed ipad… Yuck.  … Moving on, I will still finish the ipad cover because I’m realizing that I can’t live without one. (I just have to save up a little for a new one :) ..

I’ve also fallen in love with one of the Hobo Bags that I made a while back… I’ve taken to carry around all my stuff in it the last few weeks… I drafted this pattern a long time ago, but I never took the time to make one for myself… it was gifts galore one Christmas….    Now, I realize why my sister requested a new one when the original one I gave her started to poop out…   It’s roomy enough to carry everything I need to bring with me  wherever I go!  The only problem is that it’s a fall bag.  Look at the colors…. pumpkin, sage, chocolate and copper + it’s made from a heavy felted wool sweater that I got at the Salvation Army.  When the weather gets warmer, I think I’ll look pretty silly carrying it around… (Plus, I think it’s itchy  – felted wool…)

So, I’m off to the Salvation Army in search for something new … cotton sweaters.  I’m going to try to whip up a “spring” version of the hobo– lightweight cotton sweaters interfaced and embroidered.  Maybe I’ll find some yummy leather that I can pair with it…   So if any of you have the Hobo Pattern, please stay tuned for a new look….(a perfect project to keep my mind off my lost ipad.  yuck….

    Hi Alyssa,

Wow, Sorry about the delayed response! The hobo bag is one of my patterns… you can find it under the pattern button on my home page. Happy New Year. Jen

  2. Love this bag. But I can’t seem to find how you made it… Is there a post on that? I would love to be able to make one! Thank you!
