Jean + Tee Fit Workshops in Santa Rosa, Rhode Island and Novi … Oh My

I can’t believe how fast the summer zipped by!!! I’ve been working on so many new things that I haven’t stopped to breath lately… or blog for that matter.
I am planning for next year, and I want to let everyone know that I have started booking dates for workshops in 2013. I am offering my 2012 workshop fees for dates booked before the end of the year! If you’ve been thinking about having j stern designs for a workshop, please contact me for more info. It’s a well kept secret that I do more than jeans and tees! One of my favorite workshops is the Art Skirt!
I’ve been back from Santa Rosa for a week already! Look at those jean muslins…. The ladies who attended the jeans and tee fit workshops did an amazing job!! There were a few beginners in the group, and they did great too, I love it! I adapted one of my plus-sized pant patterns into a jeans pattern for one of the ladies attending the Jeans Fit Workshop. She sewed up a muslin to use to fit the pattern to her. Here’s a pic of a few of the adjustments I had to make to the back to get a good fit. After pinching out excess fabric in the back and along the sides, we ended up with a good fit.
If she sends me a pic of her customized muslin, I’ll post an update! Overall, I think everyone left the workshop with a very nice jean muslin.
So, this week I’m starting a Jeans Workshop for the Master Seamstress Program thru the University of Rhode Island… I think that there may be a spot left in the class… If you’re local and want to make jeans, click here to check it out! I love teaching jeans fitting for this program because you have a lot of time to fit your muslin AND cut out and sew your jeans too!
Also, I’m gearing up to go to the American Sewing Expo in Novi, MI… This is my first time… very excited (I have to put my big girl pants on and fly out there by myself!) I’ll have a booth there… and, I’m teaching Professional Jean Construction Techniques on Sunday, Sept 30! Lots of fun!!
Hope everyone is sewing up a storm! More to come!

Hi there, I’m going to Novi too for the first time. Hope to see you there and chat about you coming the Sassy SEWer in Baltimore, MD
Yay, I’m psyched that you’re going too… another friendly face to look for! ….and I would love to do a workshop at the Sassy Sewer. See you soon!
