The Ribbon Skirt
Ribbon Skirt is cut on the bias to create a flattering silhouette that looks great on everybody. You’ll make this skirt over and over because the possibilities are endless. Work with knits and loosely woven fabric like linen to create “fit and flare” skirts that do not need a zipper to get into. For more closely woven fabrics like soft denims and silks you’ll need to insert an invisible zipper in the side seam. There are step-by-step tutorials showing you how to make this skirt from start to finish. Check out these tutorials before you purchase your Ribbon Skirt!

Glad I found your website. Thank you
Love Any patterns cut on the bias. Hoping you’ll develop a jeans pattern cut on the bias as an extention of the adventure you related on your blog w/the thrift store find. Any chance of that happening any time soon? – I’m a Very old lady
Hi Hunny, I did a post showing how to adjust the jean pattern for bias cut fabric! I used a pair of men’s jeans that I found at the thrift shop (that were cut on the bias). I took them apart and used my adjusted pattern pieces to cut out really cool bias cut j stern design jeans! You can find it by putting “bias cut jeans” in the search feature! Jen
Also, how do you not have the “fold over” in the center front seam. I have this problem on my skirts and cannot get rid of it. The center seam in this skirt shows what I am talking about but is not as bad as most of mine.
Are these tutorials included if I buy the pattern??
Hi Dx, The tutorials are available on my website whether you buy the pattern or not : )
And to answer your question about “fold over” at the hem in the center front seam…. The fold over is caused by excess fullness in the fabric. It can happen along any seam. … If you take in the excess fabric along the seam, it should solve that problem. If it happens along the side seams, there may be excess in only the side that’s folding over (for example, if the back is folding over to the front, just take in the excess fabric in the back) Please let me know if this makes sense to you.. Feel free to contact me via email if you need more help : ) Jen
Wow, I just found this reply. I must have really gotten sidetracked. So the photo of the ribbon skirt… if some of the fabric was taken out of the left front seam the fold would not be there? As I said this is a major fault in my skirts.
