Love your “Blooming Roses” in Threads June/July 2012 issue. I’m wanting to use the idea on a dress for my (grown up) daughter and hoped you’d share a little more information. What size did you find the best for the flower and how did you manage to get the design accurately lined up for the satin stitch after you cut out the single line piece? Once I take something out of the hoop it never quite lines up again.
Hi Sandy,
Thanks so much! Sorry for the delayed response… I’m not sure how I missed your comment. I think sometimes the problem is that the satin outline may be too thin, or not digitized properly… so if you “jiggle” the design in the hoop a little when you’re trimming off the excess fabric around the outside edge, it will not match up exactly… Technically, it should match up, but I think sometimes it’s a little off. If you get small areas that do not match up, you can use the zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine (adjusted for a satin stitch that’s a similar width) to “fill in” the areas that are not perfect… Does that make sense? Let me know, thanks Jen
Hi J Stern. I was looking at the article in Threads magizine and was interested it your jean pattern and the design on the jeans.
Can you help me out. I teach at a local sewing store.

I am interested in you multicolored embroidery, also. I liked your tips in threads magazine. When you get the designs tweaked where will I find them for ordering. Also, will your designs be ready to download for bernina machines?
Hi Betty,
Thank you so much for your interest! Stay tuned! I’ll announce them in my blog as soon as they are ready!! …and yes, they’ll definitely be “bernina ready” : ) Jen
Thanks so much for asking! The jeans patterns are mine (j stern designs Misses’ Jeans… The multicolored embroidery designs are also mine : ) >…. I’m trying to get them ready to sell, it just takes time to tweak them so they stitch out perfectly! The black designs are Pfaff Embroidery Designs that I customized using embroidery software. Please let me know if you need more info or if you have more questions! Jen

what design company did you use for the jeans in threads magizine on page 81
What issue of threads was the jeans in? I am working on that pattern now and could use all the tips I can get.
